Hugh Jackman and Daniel Craig as Lifelong Cop Friends in Steady Rain
Many live performances and Broadway shows use lights, fog, and music to tell a story. However, Steady Rain is being portrayed with limited effects, and tells an amazing story that will have you sitting on the edge of your seat. Steady
Rain was first seen, on stage, back in 2006, and then again two years later at the Royal George Theatre. Only one year later Steady Rain is back, and this time on Broadway. This two man cast is played by none other than Hugh Jackman and Daniel Craig — the perfect match for this dramatic tale.
Steady Rains tells the tale of two cop friends who experience many different roads in life together. Through it all, thick and thin, the men stay fairly close, and are involved in each other’s lives. One night, just like any other, the men receive a domestic abuse call, which they run off to without a second thought. It is this evening and these events that will change their lives forever.
Unfortunately, this would be the night that these men change, forever. After listening to the man tell them that his nephew and him are fine, and that nothing is wrong, the men decide to move on with their evening. After details come to light, it is too late for the boy, and for the two men. They come to find out that the man was a serial killer, one who had his latest victim in that Vietnamese boy, a boy that he cannibalized before morning. These lifelong cop friends would struggle, from this night on, in their friendship and with their own lives.
In September of 2009 Steady Rain debuted on Broadway where thousands were drawn in by one of the most dramatic tales of the year. Steady Rain came to a close by early December, as they are only to run the production for twelve weeks. Many of you know who Jackman is as he has appeared in Broadway on numerous occasions. Daniel Craig, on the other hand, is more of a UK actor, although — of late — has been in James Bonds films. Regardless, the two are the perfect match, not only on the live stage, but for this story too.
Author, Keith Huff, along with other crew members like producer Frederick Zollo, Robert Cole, Michael Rose, Cheryl Wiesenfeld, Raymond L. Gaspard, Frank Gero, Barbara Broccoli, and Michael G. Wilson do a phenomenal job bringing this story to life for their audiences. Lighting, music, and sets are done by Vanstone, Bennett, and Pask respectively. The combination of the crew and the actors makes this story real.
