How do you become a Youtube celebrity?
Besides all the obvious answers like make funny videos, sing, Ok I get it but funny videos like what be specific..
I wanna know my audience here and what kind of videos will propel me into celebrity status…
Also do you know of any good tutorials on the web that let you get the most of Windows Movie maker?
please know that over-night stardom rarely happens! but good luck!
try something no one else has done. something totally ‘out there’. do something you like to do. be original, lip syncing os over done and posting other peoples work is trashy. don’t do anything illegal, too! be yourself- honesty is great! (example: FRED. he is ridiculously annoying but so ‘out there’ people like him… personally, i dont. but hey- he was on CNN so kudos to him.)
make it something people can relate too. some channels are based on "how to" issues from their subscribers.
that brings me to my next point- interact with your audience (comments, messages, video responses, etc.) people like to know theyve been heard- its a 15 minutes of fame kind of feeling. checking messages and replying should be done atleast once or twice a week. once you start out, its easy because your inbox flow wont be super swamped. be faithful to your loyal watchees. another example: the channel threadbanger does this alot, they always reference other people for their creativity. (happyslip set up their own email just for their youtube viewers! try that!)
also, post videos as frequently as you can. weekly is reccommended. daily would be insanely time consuming. monthly is not going to get people to subscribe to you.
keep your videos organized. if you do different segments, put them on playlists so people who are interested in one topic can find related things.
if you would like to be informative (my fave type of channel!) become an expert in something. dig in and do some research on something you are interested in and be thorough. expertvillage is a group of contributing ‘experts’ on everthing – from spring cleaning to rock and roll.
i would say avoid the obvious attention getting gags (sexual appeal, celeb trash talk, etc) but that is up to you. (barely political has the whole ‘obama girl’ thing going on for example)
come up with a theme song (just like a tv show!) and dont forget a little "subscribe and rate me!" slogan at the end. whatthebuck says "rate it even if you hate it!" (he also does the whole celeb trash talk thing)
get your name out there- any other sites you use (like facebook, myspace, friendster, etc) is an opportunity to advertise! put links on your pages and at the bottom of comments/wall posts/ messages to your friends. do NOT spam. thats trashy.
and speaking of trashy- do not bash other channels! that is loooow and not necessary. if someone bashes you, just mention it in a video and say that you think it is wrong and you would never do that.
be-freind other youtube celebs! ask for their advice on fame and stardom (be flattering, haha!). conversate often (twice a week is good for checking any emails, etc)
as far as windows movie maker goes, you can google the tutorials but i suggest practice!
good luck!
and post your youtube address in the question so we all can add you! (your first advertisement!)

the easiest way is to tape popular music videos or tv shows or movies. just tape a few and you will get thousands of views. make sure to get into it and be a real member and for those who subscribe to ur vids make sure u have a daily line-up to keep them occupied. encourage them to subscribe to ur vids. (make a little side-note in the beginning of ur vids and it will work. trust me) tape Comedy Central or Family Guy or South Park and you will be up in the bigshot’s club. sorry no suggestions on the window’s thing. mine is really simple webcam.

Add a LOT of videos of a lot of categories. Then it will be more likely for people to watch you. And give an interesting name otherwise people will just skip it!

Haha I would have to say a majority of it has to do with luck.
Although, if the video is unique, the administrators of YouTube may select it as their "video of the day" and it could catch on. Most of the YouTube celebrities just reached that status by luck – The chocolate rain guy, Chris Crocker, Peanut Butter Jelly Time, Numa Numa Guy – All mostly luck and word of mouth.
