The Marriage Ref

The Marriage Ref is a television series hosted by comedian Tom Papa, which first aired on NBC on February 28, 2010, interrupting the coverage of the 2010 Winter Olympics closing ceremony. It aired before moving to its official timeslot weekly on Thursdays. It was one of the shows used to fill the 10 PM timeslot vacated by Jay Leno’s primetime show after he moved back to The Tonight Show.

The television program has received generally negative reviews from television critics. National Public Radio called The Marriage Ref “painfully bad”, The Star Ledger described The Marriage ref as an “ugly, unfunny, patronizing mess”, and New York Magazine called it “kinda terrible”. Both The Baltimore Sun and The Huffington Post questioned how comedian Jerry Seinfeld could produce something so “unfunny”. After its debut, The Marriage Ref saw steady ratings decline with each episode, with a drop of 21 percent in the Nielsen ratings in its second week. However, the marriage ref was renewed for a second season on April 5, 2010. Season two will start on Sunday, March 6, 2011.

The premise of the show involves real-life couples who have been having an ongoing fight. A video clip is shown to the three member celebrity panel, showing both sides of the argument. The celebrity panel then discusses the merits of each side of the argument and vote on who they think is right.

In addition to the celebrity panel, there is a celebrity fact checker who can provide additional information to aid in the decision making. Though the Marriage Ref may take their advice, he is free to make up his own mind about who is right.

Several major improvements have been made for season two including having the couples live in the studio to interact with the celebrities. The studio audience will vote of which of the show’s three winners is “The Rightest” of the night and that person wins $25,000 and a billboard in their hometown declaring they are right. Celebrity gossip and reality TV are for inept human beings who make George W Bush look like Albert Einstein. I wish there were a way I could lock every reality TV fan and person who liked celebrity gossip in a room together so they all can kill each other.

After months of increasingly erratic behavior and a weeklong assault on both logic and the media, Charlie Sheen’s tiger blood was no match for his network’s patience, with the studio behind Two and a Half Men finally, officially firing Sheen from the show.

After careful consideration, Warner Bros. Television has terminated Charlie Sheen’s services on Two and a Half Men effective immediately,” the studio said in its one-line statement on the matter. No word on whether the show will be canceled outright or recast with another lead actor.

Sheen wasted no time in responding.

“This is very good news,” he said in a statement. “They continue to be in breach, like so many whales. It is a big day of gladness at the Sober Valley Lodge because now I can take all of the bazillions, never have to look at whatshiscock again and I never have to put on those silly shirts for as long as this warlock exists in the terrestrial dimension.”

Got all that? Good.

In a letter sent to Sheen and his lawyers and obtained by TMZ, Warners states: “There is ample evidence supporting Warner Bros. reasonable good faith opinion that Mr. Sheen has committed felony offenses involving moral turpitude.”

The missive was delivered to Sheen earlier today informing the actor of his immediate and unsurprising termination, despite him having one year left on his contract. What with him being a man of his word and all, over the past week, Sheen had routinely vowed to be more than willing to fulfill that final year—and possibly more.

Unfortunately, in many of the same breaths, he also told the nation that while he was willing to go back to work, he would only do so if the studio gave him a $1 million raise, bringing his total payment per episode up to a hefty $3 million.

Which couldn’t have helped his bargaining abilities. Then again, neither could his lengthy attack on showrunner Chuck Lorre. Or his insistence on being a Vatican warlock assassin. Or his blind belief that he’s in a constant state of #WINNING. Or…you get the point.

The Hugh Hefner has set a date. The 84-year-old and fiancee Crystal Harris are set to wed on June 18. The Playboy publisher popped the question over Christmas, and the two planned to be married at the Playboy mansion. The 24-year-old bride is already dress shopping, according to People.

Hugh Hefner was born in Chicago, Illinois, the elder of two sons born to Grace Caroline and Glenn Lucius Hefner both teachers. Hugh Hefner’s mother was of Swedish descent and his father had German and English ancestry.On his father’s side, Hefner is a direct descendant of Plymouth governor William Bradford. He has described his family as “conservative, Midwest, Methodist”. He went to Sayre Elementary School and Steinmetz High School, then served as a writer for a military newspaper in the U.S. Army from 1944 to 1946. Hugh Hefner later graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a B.A. in psychology with a double minor in creative writing and art in 1949, earning his degree in two and a half years. After graduation, he took a semester of graduate courses in sociology at Northwestern University but dropped out soon after.

 Crystal Harris born April 29, 1986 is a model and singer who was the Playboy Playmate of the Month for December 2009. On December 24, 2010, she became engaged to Hugh Hefner, to become his third wife.

Harris’ British parents were entertainers, who were working at the England-themed amusement park in Lake Havasu City, Arizona, the present location of the 19th century London Bridge. After her birth, they returned to England, before returning to the United States and settling in San Diego, California, where she and her two older sisters grew up.

 The Grammys red carpet never dissappoints. Star come out in full force every year. The Grammys always amaze. The Stars go all out for The Grammys. some are rather strange. Lady Gaga arrived inside of an egg. Katy Perry bought he grand mother. You never know what or who you will see at The Grammy’s but it is never anything short of amazing.

The show always features a number of surprises (both scheduled and not), so it is always a fantastically entertaining three-and-a-half hours. LeAnne Rimes shoed up in a beautiful dress but looking sickly skinny. I mean it’s the grammys not Ethiopia. However Katy Perry looked like she eats which is always a good look.

      Eminem, Lady Gaga (fresh off the premiere of her new single “Born This Way”), Rihanna, Drake, Arcade Fire, Cee Lo Green, Justin Bieber , Muse, Christina Aguilera, Jennifer Hudson and Bob Dylan all performed.

On the stage, Justin is sitting on a chair with a guitar on his lap and Usher approaches him. “Yeah, that was four years ago. That’s how it started,” the American singer says about the clip played on screen. “You told me if it was meant to be, we would meet again,” Justin tells Usher who responds, “That’s right, and now it’s your time.”

Rhianna and Drake gave a wonderful performance at the grammys.

The Grammys were established in 1958. Prior to the first live Grammys telecast in 1971 on American Broadcasting Company (ABC), a series of taped annual specials in the 1960s called The Best on Record were broadcast on National Broadcasting Company (NBC). The first Grammy Award telecast took place on the night of November 29, 1959, as an episode of the NBC anthology series Sunday Showcase, which was normally devoted to plays, original TV dramas, and variety shows. Until 1971, awards ceremonies were held in both New York and Los Angeles, with winners accepting at one of the two. Pierre Cossette bought the rights to broadcast the ceremony from the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences and organized the first live telecast.CBS Broadcasting bought the rights in 1973 after moving the ceremony to Nashville, Tennessee; the American Music Awards were created for ABC (by Dick Clark) as a result.

Tonight was the 53rd Grammy Awards was held on February 13, 2011, at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, broadcasted live on CBS in the East and Central Times Zones, and on the three-hour west-coast delay in the Pacific Time Zone. The Grammys always a show.
